Procedure 01

To install the DirtWhacker Secondary and Tertiary Cleaner units successfully, please print the following installation identification drawings:

Installation Drawings:

  1. DW 2921 Secondary & Tertiary Side Identification
  2. DW 2922 Secondary & Tertiary Rear Identification
  3. DW 2923 Secondary & Tertiary Top Identification
  4. DW 2941 Secondary & Tertiary Installation Steps
  5. DW 2944 Degree of Collapse Identification

Installation Steps:

  1. Mount main mounting brackets
  2. Inflate air bladder to 50 kpa ( 8 psi )
  3. Measure distance L2 ( Drawings: DW 2922 and  DW 2923 )
  4. Loosen bolts N
  5. Adjust extension shafts to distance L1 ( L1 = L2 + 10MM )
  6. Equalize measurements L4 and L5
  7. Tighten bolts N and locknuts
  8. Remove bolts A and Clamp Block Cap M2 on the near side ( Drawing:  DW 2921 )
  9. Loosen bolts A on the far side by three half turns
  10. Insert one round section of extension piece into Clamp Block M1/M2 on the far side
  11. Place the remaining extension piece round section into Clamp Block M1 on the near side
  12. Replace Clamp Block Cap M2 and bolts A on the near side
  13. Ensure that bolts A on the near side and far side are loosened by one full turn ( Drawing: DW 2921 )
  14. Turn the unit on the horizontal axis until the blades are positioned 90 degrees to the belt ( Drawing: DW 2941, Figure 01 )
  15. Tighten bolts A - both sides
  16. Loosen bolts C - both sides one full turn
  17. Move the unit up until the blades touch the belt on the near and far sides uniformly
  18. Tighten bolts C - both sides
  19. Loosen bolts A - both sides one full turn
  20. Rotate the unit on the horizontal axis toward the tai pulley 45 degres ( Drawing: DW 2941 )
  21. Tighten bolts A - both sides
  22. Loosen bolts B and move angle brackets E toward Clamp Blocks M1/M2 on both sides
  23. Tighten bolts B - both sides
  24. Loosen bolts C - both sides
  25. By means of bolts G lift Clamping Blocks M1/M2 with 20mm - on both sides
  26. Lock bolts G with lock nut G1 - both sides
  27. Tighten bolts C - both sides
  28. Deflate the air bladder completely
  29. Loosen bolts A both sides - one full turn ( Drawing: DW 2941, Figure 03 )
  30. Turn the unit on the horizontal axis until the blades are positioned 90 degrees to the belt
  31. Fasten bolts - both sides
  32. Inflate bladder to 30 - 70 kpa to attain ideal cleaning
    a. Depending on belt speed
    b. Depending on belt condition
    c. Depending on stickiness of material
    d. Depending on moisture content of material
  33. If any vibration occurs:
    a. Loosen bolts A half a turn - both sides
    b. Rotate unit 2 to 3 degrees towards the head pulley until vibration stops
    c. Tighten bolts A - both side
