There are two set ways of installing the DirtWhacker Primary Belt Cleaners this is the first method. To install the DirtWhacker Primary Cleaner unit successfully, please view/print the following installation identification drawings:
Installation Drawings :
- DW 1921 Primary side view installation identification
- DW 1922 Primary top view installation identification
- DW 1923 Primary rear view installation identification
- DW 1931 Primary head pulley angle installation identification
- DW 1932 Primary blade angle installation Identification
Installation Drawings :
- Mark the center of the head pulley shaft as S6
- From S6 extend a horizontal (0°) line S5 to the outer radius of the head pulley
- From line S5 measure 30°down on the outer radius of the head pulley
- Extend line S4 at 30° from S6 to the outer radius of the head pulley
- Mark S1 where S4 encounter the outer radius of the head pulley
- From S1 extend line S2 vertically down
- From S1 measure 300 mm vertically down on line S2
- On the 300 mm mark extend a horizontal (0°) line S3
- Mount the main mounting brackets utilizing lines S2 and S3 (Drawing: DW 1932)
- Pump air bladder to 50kpa (8psi)
- Measure distance L2 (Drawing: DW 1922 and DW 1923)
- Loosen bolts N
- Adjust extension shafts to distance L1 (L1 = L2 + 10 mm)
- Equalize measurement L4 and L5
- Tighten bolts N and locknuts
- Remove bolts A and Clamp Block Cap M2 on the near side (Drawing: DW 1921)
- Loosen bolts A on the far side by three full turns
- Insert one round section of extension piece into Clamp Block M1/M2 on the far side
- Place the remaining extension piece round section into Clamp Block M1 on the near side
- Replace Clamp Block Cap M2 and bolts A on the near side
- Ensure that bolts A on the near and far side are loosened by one full turn (Drawing: DW 1921)
- Turn the unit on the horizontal axis till the primary unit is positioned at 45 degrees (Drawing: DW 1932)
- Tighten bolts A - both sides
- Loosen bolts C - both sides one full turn
- Move the unit towards the head pulley until the blades touch the belt on the near and far sides uniformly
- Tighten bolts C - both sides
- Deflate the air bladder completely
- Loosen bolts B and move angle brackets E towards Clamp Blocks M1/M2 on both sides
- Tighten bolts B - both sides
- Loosen bolts C - both sides
- By means of bolts G move clamping blocks M1/M2 by 20mm towards head pulley - both sides
- Lock bolt G with locknut G1 - both sides
- Tighten bolts C - both sides
- Inflate air bladder 30-70kpa to attain ideal cleaning
a. Depending on belt speed
b. Depending on belt condition
c. Depending on stickiness of material
d. Depending on moisture content of material
